If you’re a big fan of comics or Japanese manga (like, literally) then this will totally be up your alley.

Publishing company Kodansha is set to publish a hundred gargantuan copies of its famous Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin, for you purists out there) manga. Featuring the first volume which contains episodes one and two, Attack on Titan for Giants measures 101 cm tall, 71.5 cm long, and fits in a hefty cardboard storage box. All in all, the manga and the box should weigh approximately 11.2 kg (roughly 25 pounds)!

The decision to make a giant-sized manga wasn’t made just for the sake of convenience. This is to coincide with Attack on Titan’s final manga chapter launching sometime later this year, as well as to promote the anime that has also reached its final season.

This is also Kodansha’s shot at breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest comic book ever published. Currently, the title belongs to Turma da Mônica, a comic released in Sao Paolo, Brazil measuring a hefty 6,976.02 cm². Not only does Kodansha’s Attack on Titan for Giants have to beat Turma da Mônica in terms of size, but it also has to outsell it in terms of copies.

This inevitably brings us to the price. Buying one of these giant manga volumes will cost you a good ¥150,000 ($1,389, to be exact), which puts a giant-sized hole in your wallet to go with that giant manga book in your house. For reference, normal-sized manga in Japan can be bought new for as low as $4.6 (¥500). Even if you do have the money to burn, however, Kodansha is only selling the giant manga in Japan.

Attack on Titan for Giants will be on sale this May 6, 2021, and will begin shipping mid-May 2021. If you live in Japan and happen to be a giant, this could be the best way to get your hands on an oversized copy of one of the world’s most famous manga titles. You can even color in the pages once you’re done reading it!
