With so much going on in the world, it’s easy to go out on a balcony, stare off to the horizon, reflect inside and say, “I have SO many awesome mixtapes!” Or had, if you tossed them in a fit of KonMari rage.
If ya do have some stashed away, however, we have the PERFECT project for you. One that will remind you how much finger-rewinding a stuck tape reel added to your character and, may we say, lit up, your life.
Maker Christopher wins for ‘Most Creative Reuse of Sentimental Box Finds’ with his 3D printed Cassette Lamp that hearkens back to better times of hair, spandex, and awkward bliss.
It’s a simple print, with one large version and a smaller version for smaller 3D printers. He’s also provided a 5-sided Pentagonal design and a 6-sided Hexagonal and a top for each.
He recommends PET-G or ABS filament with a mild 10% infill. A simple LED dimmable light strip (3000K) or a color-changing, Bluetooth controlled light strip can be used to light up that music from your past.
You can download the Cassette Lamp files from MyMiniFactory. (BONUS! For the other end of your cabinet, check out Christopher’s Lowpoly Pinapple planter!)
